Steel Industry LCA Working Group Established
The establishment of the LCA Working Group is a new starting point for the industry's low-carbon development. In the future, it is necessary to gather the strength of the whole industrial chain to build a “Chinese model” for the green development of iron and steel, and to contribute China's wisdom to global climate governance. In view of the next step, four suggestions were put forward: first, to promote the establishment of a product LCA database covering the whole process of iron and steel based on the EPD platform, the steel low-carbon service platform and the data of various enterprises, so as to ensure the scientific and authoritative nature of the data; second, to improve the standardization system, and formulate the LCA accounting method in line with the characteristics of China's processes; third, to deepen the application scenarios, and to promote the application of LCA in the design of green products and the application of LCA in supply chain management; fourth, to enhance the application of LCA in the management of green steel; fourth, to enhance the application of LCA in the management of green steel.
